JUDAEA, First Jewish War. 66-70 CE. Shekel (Silver, 23 mm, 13.92 g, 12 h), Jerusalem, Year 2 = 67/8. 'Shekel of Israel' (in Hebrew) Omer cup with pearled rim; above, 'Y[ear] 2' (in Hebrew). Rev. 'Jerusalem the holy' (in Hebrew) Stem with three pomegranates. Hendin 1358. Meshorer 193. Sofaer 5-6. A bright and attractive piece, very well centered on a broad flan. Extremely fine.
